How can I help?

I offer open-ended counselling and time-limited focused therapy for adult individuals usually on a once a week basis. The kind of therapy I practice is based on what are called psychodynamic principles, with the recognition that the difficulties we experience in the present often have their roots in the past. That we often repeat our mistakes instead of understanding then. My work is also informed by other models (principally existential and philosophical approaches to life's challenges). I also offer CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), when appropriate, where the focus is more on the here and now and uses the connection between thoughts, feelings, beliefs and behaviour in a collaborative effort to examine, understand and modify the way the world is experienced and how this effects behaviour and our sense of self.
